The beach of Apokrusi in Kythnos is a stunning sight. It is situated in a secluded bay in the northwest of the island, between small hills, and can be easily reached using the main paved road. The views from the beach towards Kolona are also spectacular. Apokrusi is the largest sandy beach of the island and the crystal clear waters make swimming a delightful experience. The tamarisk trees which line the beach provide shade and the sound of their leaves rustling in the wind is calming.

One can be enchanted by the beauty of Apokrusis beach, located in a small sheltered bay. Standing at the center of the beach, one is treated to a stunning sight of golden hills on either side, while the deep blue waters stretch out to the horizon. In the distance, the islet of Agios Loukas can be seen from Colona beach. Truly, the view is so idyllic that words cannot do it justice.

At Apokrusi beach, a Beach Bar provides visitors with drinks, snacks, and a breathtaking view of the bay. Furthermore, there are some rooms for rent and two taverns where people can sample local delicacies, such as the traditional mezes made with local ingredients. The northern part of the bay is bordered by a small chapel, while the south is home to the archaeological site of Vryokastro, the former capital of the island. Excavations at the site have uncovered a plethora of artifacts. Lastly, a road leads to the renowned Kolona beach.
