At the northernmost tip of the Peloponnese, about 15 kilometers northeast of the center of Patras, opposite Nafpaktos and the coasts of Etoloakarnania, is the beach of Drepanos, which is bathed by the Gulf of Corinth and has developed into a popular summer tourist destination.

Its location is between the villages of Arachovitika and Psathopyrgos, along the old Athens-Patra highway, approximately halfway from Patras to Aegio.

The trees, which reach almost to the sea, offer rich shade to the bathers, creating a comfortable space to sit and enjoy the view of the sea. The beach of Drepanos has gravel and pebble materials, giving it a special aesthetic.

For the most part, as its area is quite large, it remains unorganized, which makes it ideal for those looking for a calm and relaxed stay. A small part of it is organized, with umbrellas and beach bars dominating.

The beach, pebbly and relatively deep, stands out for its lighthouse, which together with the small peninsula give a unique look to the landscape. The lighthouse, of particular architecture, is about 10 meters high and was built in 1880. During the Second World War it was decommissioned, but it was reactivated after 1945, as part of the reconstruction of the Lighthouse Network, using oil as a source of energy.

There is a paved road about 1.5 km from Drepano village, with the last 200 meters being a dirt road near the beach, which is in moderate condition, and leads to the lighthouse, where there is parking. The lighthouse is fenced with 1.5m high barbed wire, while the area around it is flat and safe for small children. The beach next to the lighthouse has sand and is suitable for children.

On its western side, near the lighthouse and towards Cape Drepanos, the beach, due to the strong winds that hit it, attracts many windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts.
