Description

Skiathos is renowned for its most popular beach, which is also the most crowded. This beach is distinguished by its powdery white sand, and its fragrant pine tree forest from which the region acquired its name. It is widely regarded as one of the best beaches in Greece and was voted the most unspoilt beach of the Mediterranean. The pristine blue waters are a delight to see. There are plenty of recreational activities as the beach is well-equipped with amenities such as water sports, chairs, umbrellas and beach bars. 

The area around the beach is dotted with restaurants, taverns and hotels. A local bus runs to the capital every half an hour. Additionally, the pine forest bordering the beach houses a biotope where many species of plants and birds are safeguarded. This region, together with the beach, has been developed for ecotourism, funded by the Municipality and the European Union.
