Description
The island of Symi is part of the Dodecanese and sits right off the Turkish coast. Its namesake town is known for the picturesque pastel-colored homes that line the harbor, the bright fishing vessels that rock in the waves, and the many ouzerias where you can hear the melodious sound of the bouzouki while sipping your ouzo.
The harbor is usually bustling in the summertime, but now there's an option to alleviate the overcrowding: Marina Symi, which opened in September 2021 in the nearby Pedi Bay. The cove offers great protection from the Meltemi winds that are common in the summer. The marina has around 30 berths, with electricity and water available for a fee, and showers and restrooms in the marina building. The depth of the marina is approximately 5 meters, deepening quickly. Fuel can be obtained from a tanker.
