Description

When it was originally built two centuries ago, it stood directly on the seashore.
Preveza occupies a strategic yet vulnerable position, making its fortification essential for defense. The Ottoman Turks were the first to fortify the city in the 15th century. Their initial fortress, the Castle of Buca, was later dismantled, and its materials were repurposed to construct the castles of Agios Andreas and Agios Georgios.
