Description

When the Genoans ruled the island (1362-1481), they repaired the fortress; but, when they left before the Turkish threat, it was abandoned.

The castle's modest size suggests that its main functions were to shelter a small guard and monitor the island's water passages. Around the summit of the hill, some portions of the walls still stand today. The church of Agios Georgios is located within.
