Description
According to legend, the hill is artificial, built by thousands of people who carried soil over many years, leaving two secret underground entrances to the castle.
The castle was one of two citadels that existed in Oreos in the 4th century BC.
It was rebuilt during the period of Venetian rule. In 1275, the knight Licario captured the castle and used it as a base for his campaigns against the Franks.
Today, only a few remnants of the castle remain, and the site is largely neglected. Some sections of the fortification walls are still visible, reaching a maximum height of 2.5 meters.
