Description

Just before Legraina, on the road leading to Sounio, there is a... mysterious sign that says "Property of K.A.P.E." of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Technology, and leads to one of the well-hidden paradises of Attica, KAPE beach, as it is known.

This is the beach that everyone has known for years that exists somewhere near Sounio, but almost no one knew how to get there! And yet, this little paradise, the most secret of the secret beaches, a breath away from Athens, is indeed waiting for us to take us to the Cyclades, without having to get on a boat.

So, the KAPE beach {where KAPE = acronym for "Center for Renewable Energy Sources"}, is located near Legrena Attica (on the Athens-Souni coastal road), immediately after the settlement of Charakas.

KAPE beach remains quite difficult to find, since you have to turn onto the dirt road, leave the car on the plateau you will find and go down paved steps.

When you descend, you will be rewarded, as you will magically find yourself in an island setting not unlike the Basin: rocky outcrops, fine gravel, crystal blue waters and a complete lack of organization, in a place that seems unspoiled and untouched by man.

Small and well hidden, this cove has generously received the masterful touch of Mother Nature and guarantees true relaxation, with an excellent view of the sea and the islet of Patroklos.

Bring supplies of water and food and an umbrella and dive into the most beautiful waters of Athens. There is a canteen before the steps, but it is not always open.

Just before Legrena and heading towards Sounio, we come across a sign that says "Property of KAPE". There we turn and following the dirt road we face the blue-green waters that remind us of an island in the Aegean.

The coast is not organized, so it is good to have the necessary supplies for a day at the beach.
