Description
In the classical period, Likythos was the site of one of the two citadels of ancient Toroni. Later, during the Byzantine period, a sturdy castle was constructed there, largely using materials from the ancient acropolis.
The castle, along with the surrounding settlement, was destroyed in the 15th or 16th century.
Today, only a few remnants survive: parts of the walls and the remains of a church with a double water tank beneath it.
