Description
According to an inscription, now housed in the Amphipolis museum, the tower was built in 1367 by the lords Ioannis and Alexios, who were high-ranking officials in Constantinople and owned land in the area. Sometime before 1384, the tower was donated to the Pantocrator Monastery on Mount Athos.
Today, only one floor remains intact, along with a single wall from the second floor. A unique feature of this tower is that it was constructed entirely using materials from the ancient city of Amphipolis.
