The tower was built in 1415 by the local lord Giovanni Peliteo. At the time, the area was part of the Duchy of Athens, which was under the control of the Neapolitan Acciaiuoli family, who ruled the region from 1385 to 1458.

The tower's base measures 8.0 by 8.0 meters, and its current height is 10.25 meters. The walls are 1.85 meters thick.
